Santa Ynez Vally Estate listed for $45m, 4,600 Acers 12,000 sqf main house

The finest ranch estate on the West Coast, Rancho Latigo encompasses nearly ~4,600 pristine acres in California's spectacular Santa Ynez Valley. Miles of horse trails and views of untrammeled mountains are given a human scale by the pristine equine landscape – in which paddocks, riding arenas and shady arbors with fieldstone watering pools celebrate the unique relationship between man and horse.
Approximately one-half hour from the Pacific Ocean and Santa Barbara, the American Riviera, this magnificent property hosts a ~12,000 square foot home featured in the October 2009 edition of Architectural Digest as well as guest and manager residences and superlative equine facilities.
Add a temperate year-round climate, privacy and security, ease of access in a prime location in combination with close proximity to fine dining and upscale amenities and Rancho Latigo is unsurpassed.

Montecito Ranch On 238 Acres Lists For $125 Million

A  nearly 238-acre ranch in posh Montecito, the hilly enclave in the mountains above Santa Barbara, has hit the market with a price tag of $125 million.
Rancho San Carlos, as it is being called, includes a more than 25,000-square-foot main house with 30 rooms on land owned by the same family since 1927. It is the largest estate in Montecito, where significant estates lie on five to 15 acres, and even Oprah Winfrey’s ‘Promised Land’ estate, which sold for $45 million in 2001, encompasses just 42. Its $125 million price tag makes it the most expensive ever to list in Montecito, confirms Suzanne Perkins, one of the listing agents.
Also known as the Jackson Ranch, the estate at 2500 East Valley Road on Montecito’s eastern edge is extremely private. Designed by Pasadena architect Reginald Johnson in 1929, the main home is set in the middle of the property, at the end of a long (six-tenths of a mile) drive that wends its way through oak trees and orange and lemon groves. From there, the views to the north are of the Santa Barbara mountains. To the south, the Pacific Ocean.
